Thanks to Lisa for the inspiration
The Red Shoes by Ursula Dubosarsky
ReplyDeleteGone by Michael Grant
This is not nearly enough but we just took a pile back. The library is on our to-do list for the day though.
I also have four books I need to finish reading for my fifth grade book clubs: Esperanza Rising, Sea of Monsters, In the year of the boar and Jackie Robinson and Coraline.
*sob*
ReplyDeleteThe Hunger Games, by Suzanne Collins, and The Middle Place, by Kelly Corrigan. I'm half-way through The Hunger Games and loving it.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry your trip had to be postponed. It looks like you have plenty to keep you busy though during the break. :-)
ReplyDeleteHoly books batman! I currently don't have a single book saved...although I have a pile on my nightstand waiting to be read.
ReplyDeleteElegance of the Hedgehog
Eat, Pray, Love
The Fountainhead
African Queen
The Secret Life of Bees
xox
Sorry about the trip - that really stinks! But, it looks like you'll be well taken care of!
ReplyDeleteI've only got a few books from the library at the moment:
The Moonstone
Roller Skates
Al Capone Does my Shirts
Wings
Happy reading!
Sorry your friend is sick, and sorry you didn't get to go on your trip. If you lived here, you probably wouldn't be going anywhere, either. Snow and snowing hard. (Wonder if Daughter will make it home for break; I sure don't want her on the road today.)
ReplyDeleteI just finished reading Dolly Departed by Deb Baker. I was so excited because she writes mysteries around doll collectors. I wasn't impressed.
Also finished Death by Inferior Design by Leslie Caine. It is the first book in the series, but I had already read the newer ones. I think Ms. Caine writes well, but I'm kind of tired of the two heroes being at cross purposes all the time. And, really, do all interior design jobs revolve around a murder or two???
I still have Twilight and The Invention of Hugo Cabret checked out.
Looks like you will get TB (tired b**t) from reading so much. :D
You are my hero!
ReplyDeleteA Tale of Two Cities
ReplyDeleteHarry Potter 6
The Abolition of Man
:) you are cool.
East of Eden, 2 Haggadahs, Keeping Passover, Last one in is a Rotten Egg, Peter Rabbit's Happy Easter, The First Easter, The Easter Bunny, There Was a Young Fellow Who Swallowed a Cello, Melvin Bubble, and The Easter Bunny is Coming.
ReplyDeleteI have all the same ones I had last time I posted, minus some of the quilting ones that I already returned.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry to hear about your trip, but envious of a week of reading.
Bummer on the trip but that stack of books looks fantastic!!
ReplyDeleteI am waiting for Graceling and Winnie's War. I get so excited when that library robot voice calls me to tell me I have a book in.
ReplyDeleteP.S. I gave you an award on my blog.
You have so many of my favorite books in that pile! Woo hoo!
ReplyDeleteI am just really hoping you don't hate Sloppy Firsts.
Also, thanks for the reminder to add stuff to my reserve list at the library.
Right now I'm reading Little Brother and it's dragging, so I might have to ditch it.
Wow, you're here. And this whole time I was thinking you were gone.
ReplyDeleteRight now I have Fairest and Ever, both books are by Gail Carson Levine. I just finished Fairest and really liked it (it's a retelling of Snow White). I also have A Curse Dark as Gold, by Elizabeth C. Bunce. It's a retelling of Rumpelstiltskin. Do you see a theme going on here? I'm very excited to plunge into it.
Let me know which ones you loved, I'll add them to my list!
*blink, blink* How are you ever going to get them all read before you have to return them again?
ReplyDeleteEnjoy all those books!
ReplyDeleteI didn't realize you were in Austin. Me, too!
Small word. :)
What do college students need a "break" from, exactly? ;)
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the Jessica Darling series so hard. Book #5, the final one, is out in April.
ReplyDeleteHere's my list: http://www.catagator.org/?p=101
My shelf looks surprisingly similar to yours. I would skip the White Darkness though. Totally not worth spending your spring break on... Sorry about your trip. This a great time of year in Phoenix too, and I'm sure Kayla would have loved to see you.
ReplyDeleteCostume books... Too bad it is only research reading and not for fun... Oh well! It will still be fun!
ReplyDeleteNothing. I clearly need to check something out when I return kids' books tomorrow. I liked that you have Anne of Avonlea on your list. Hmm.. Maybe I will just read that whole series again.
ReplyDelete"What do you have checked out from your library right now?"
ReplyDeleteYou really want me to list all 32 of them? I admit it - I have a problem.
i have to second the suggestion to skip the white darkness. i don't know how to explain why i didn't like it, but let's just say some people should never write adolescent lit.
ReplyDeleteOh geez. So jealous and intimidated. I'm reading Cheaper by the Dozen- hilarious. And I have The Disreputable History of Frankie Landau-Bankes on my shelf and many others on request. Plus, I'm reading a few different books with my kids (one of my fav. parts of teaching!)
ReplyDeleteThe Flying Troutmans by Miriam Toews (good Canadian adult fiction)
ReplyDeleteThe Wednesday Witch by Ruth Chew (a favourite from my childhood, wanted to see if it was as good as I remebered and reread it with my 7 year old)
The Only Snow In Havana by Elizabeth Hay (haven't read yet)
The Rough Guide to Blogging by Jonathan Yang (I AM going to start a blog!)
You mean I'm Not Lazy, Stupid Or Crazy?! A Self-Help Book for Adults with Attention Deficit Disorder by Kate Kelly and Peggy Ramundo (still working my way through this one... will have to renew it... again! A typical situation for ADDers!)
Can't wait to hear what you think about some of those......I expect goodread review at the least (I assume you won't do blog reviews on all of them).
